Is Hawaiian Tropic reef safe?

MIXED

Do not pack Weightless Hydration for Maui. Mineral Skin Nourishing Milk is legal there. Palau still fails that milk. Do not bring Canadian Island Sport.

MIXED here means one bottle fails Maui or Palau and another does not. A zinc lotion can still show mixed on HEL if the brand never printed nano or non-nano.

Maui / Big Island. Pass: Mineral Skin Nourishing Milk SPF 50. Fail: Weightless Hydration SPF 30 lotion (US DailyMed); Island Sport SPF 30 lotion (Canada).

DailyMed Hawaiian Tropic Mineral Skin Nourishing Milk SPF 50, dated 16 Aug 2026

Maui pass, Palau fail on phenoxyethanol. DailyMed does not print nano or non-nano.

What this means

Weightless Hydration is chemical. Do not pack it for Maui, even if it can sell under Act 104 off that island. The mineral milk is the Maui bottle if zinc and titanium are still the only actives. Palau still fails the mineral milk on phenoxyethanol. If Palau is the trip, this is not the bottle. Do not bring Canadian Island Sport. That panel still lists oxybenzone. US Island Sport is a different label. If the actives do not match, paste them in the checker.

All places

Palau and the US Virgin Islands are in this table too. Maui and the Big Island use the same mineral-only rule.

Stamps are only on bottles we have dated. Maui and the Big Island share the mineral-only test. Palau can still fail a zinc lotion on phenoxyethanol.

FAQ

Is Hawaiian Tropic reef safe?

Not as a brand. The mineral milk passes Maui and fails Palau on phenoxyethanol. Weightless Hydration fails Maui, Palau, USVI, and HEL. Canadian Island Sport fails Act 104 on oxybenzone.

Can I bring Hawaiian Tropic to Hawaii?

Only a mineral SKU belongs on Maui or the Big Island. Weightless Hydration can be sold under Act 104 off those islands and still fails the stricter columns. Do not bring the Canadian Island Sport panel. It has oxybenzone.

Is the mineral milk actually reef-safe?

It is mineral-only, so it is legal on Maui. Phenoxyethanol is still listed, which fails Palau. DailyMed does not print nano or non-nano.
