MIXED

Unseen and Glowscreen fail Maui. Pack PLAY Mineral Lotion or the PLAY Mineral stick. Palau is fine on those two.

MIXED here means one bottle fails Maui or Palau and another does not. A zinc lotion can still show mixed on HEL if the brand never printed nano or non-nano.

Maui / Big Island. Pass: PLAY Mineral Lotion SPF 30; PLAY Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50. Fail: Unseen Sunscreen SPF 50; Glowscreen SPF 40.

supergoop.com PLAY Mineral SPF 30 Drug Facts, dated 16 Aug 2026

Zinc-only, so Maui passes. Palau passes. This page does not print nano or non-nano. Unseen is a different formula.

What this means

Unseen is the primer people search, and it fails Maui. Glowscreen is the same kind of chemical mix. Act 104 can still allow both off Maui and the Big Island. Pack PLAY Mineral Lotion SPF 30 if the Drug Facts still say zinc oxide 16% as the only active, or PLAY Mineral Stick SPF 50 if it still says zinc 20.6%. Palau is fine on those two. PLAY's pages do not say non-nano. Some retailer listings call a PLAY mineral formula non-nano and add titanium dioxide. That is a different bottle than this 16% zinc lotion.

All places

Palau and the US Virgin Islands are in this table too. Maui and the Big Island use the same mineral-only rule.

Stamps are only on bottles we have dated. Maui and the Big Island share the mineral-only test. Palau can still fail a zinc lotion on phenoxyethanol.

FAQ

Is Supergoop reef safe?

Unseen and Glowscreen are not legal on Maui. PLAY Mineral lotion and stick are zinc-only, so Maui and Palau pass. PLAY's pages do not say non-nano.

Is Unseen sunscreen OK in Hawaii?

On Oahu, Kauai, and Molokai it can be sold under Act 104. On Maui and the Big Island it is a chemical sunscreen and is not legal to sell or use without a prescription.

Does Supergoop make a mineral version?

Yes. PLAY Mineral Lotion SPF 30 lists zinc oxide 16%. PLAY Mineral Stick SPF 50 lists zinc oxide 20.6%. Those are not Unseen or Glowscreen.

Is PLAY Mineral non-nano?

The PLAY Mineral SPF 30 page does not say nano or non-nano. Some retailer listings call a PLAY mineral formula non-nano and list titanium dioxide. That is not this 16% zinc lotion. We do not guess particle size.

What about the Supergoop stick?

PLAY Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50 is in the table.
