Is Vacation reef safe?

MIXED

Super Spritz is not legal on Maui. Pack Mineral Lotion SPF 30. Shake Shake is mineral too, and Palau still fails that milk.

MIXED here means one bottle fails Maui or Palau and another does not. A zinc lotion can still show mixed on HEL if the brand never printed nano or non-nano.

Maui / Big Island. Pass: Mineral Lotion SPF 30; Shake Shake SPF 50 Mineral Milk. Fail: Super Spritz SPF 50 face mist; Classic Face Lotion SPF 45.

vacation.inc Mineral Lotion SPF 30 Drug Facts, dated 16 Aug 2026

Zinc-only, non-nano on the product page. That is the Maui and Palau bottle here.

What this means

Super Spritz is the scent people buy, and it is not legal on Maui. Classic Face is the same kind of chemical mix. The Act 104 stamp and the Reef Safe badge on Super Spritz only mean no oxybenzone and no octinoxate. Pack Mineral Lotion SPF 30 if the Drug Facts still say zinc oxide 15.5% as the only active. The brand prints non-nano. Palau is fine on that lotion. Shake Shake is mineral too: zinc 20.5%, labeled non-nano. Palau still fails that milk on phenoxyethanol. It does not print water-resistance minutes, so it is not the snorkeling bottle.

All places

Palau and the US Virgin Islands are in this table too. Maui and the Big Island use the same mineral-only rule.

Stamps are only on bottles we have dated. Maui and the Big Island share the mineral-only test. Palau can still fail a zinc lotion on phenoxyethanol.

FAQ

Is Vacation sunscreen reef safe?

Super Spritz and Classic Face are not legal on Maui. Mineral Lotion SPF 30 is zinc-only and labeled non-nano, so Maui and Palau pass. Shake Shake is zinc-only, so Maui passes, and Palau fails it on phenoxyethanol.

Is Super Spritz OK in Hawaii?

Act 104 can allow it off Maui and the Big Island. On those two islands it is a chemical sunscreen. The Reef Safe badge on the product page is not a Maui statement.

Does Vacation make a mineral sunscreen?

Yes. Mineral Lotion SPF 30 lists zinc oxide 15.5% and says non-nano. Shake Shake lists zinc oxide 20.5% and says non-nano. Those are not Super Spritz and not Classic Face.

Is Vacation mist reef safe?

Super Spritz SPF 50 face mist is in the table. If yours is a different mist, paste the actives into the checker.

Is Vacation face sunscreen reef safe?

Super Spritz SPF 50 face mist and Classic Face Lotion SPF 45 are in the table. Face and body formulas often have different lists.
